Jirah means provision in Hebrew. We felt in our hearts that God was leading us to use the company as a provision not only for the owners, but also for our clients and future employees. The name primarily came about because Fernando was unemployed at the time. He truly believed that provision comes from God, not from man. That’s why, when the concept was created, he ultimately decided to name it Jirah.
The first office was a home office, but when the recycling division started, it began at the house. There were foam bags all over the house. At that time, we still didn’t have a place to begin operations, so all the equipment was set up in the house.
With a personal credit card of $10,000 for equipment purchase and $20,000 in savings, in a big leap on faith, we rented out a 3,500 square feet facility...and the rest is history!
Our first large maintenance client was the PR Convention Center, after bidding for a project to take care of the largest dancing fountains in the Caribbean.
We started out with a 3-month trial contract, and it has evolved to a long business relationship for over the last 15 years, that include mechanical, janitorial and electrical work.

The company started with a 3,500 square feet facility, with the recycling division. To meet all basic needs, it was located in Caguas on Highway 1.
Our first large maintenance client was the Puerto Rico Convention Center in Caguas, after a recommendation from the Deputy Mayor to support the fountains.
With good management and after securing a 3-month trial contract for maintenance services at the PR Convention Center, we later gained them as a steady and regular maintenance client.
